Alpine valleys – Radovna, Krma, Vrata, Tamar and Upper Sava Valley
These scenic remote areas of Slovenia’s Alps are home to old traditions which are still kept very much alive. The valleys are located close to giant mountain faces. Vrata is the closest you can get to Mount Triglav, Slovenia’s highest mountain and the country’s national symbol depicted in the flag. The Radovna Valley was carved by glacial river of the same name and offers an incredible hike into the heart of this Alpine world. The Tamar and Krma Valleys are renowned for their spectacular beauty and cross-country skiing and ski touring trails. The latter is also the longest and easiest route for ascending Mt. Triglav.
