Lipizzaner horses
The Austro-Hungarian Empress Maria Theresa wanted them to be white, so they bred them to make them so, but in fact the Lipizzaner horses are born brown or black and turn white later. The breed was made famous by the Spanish riding school performance in Vienna because of the horses’ ability to be well-trained for graceful equestrian training and carriage ride competitions. On her visit to Slovenia, Queen Elizabeth II was presented with a Lipizzaner as a gift.
