From the Queen of the Adriatic to the Jewel of the Alps, this day trip is unlike any other. You will get a chance to visit the symbol of Slovenia’s natural and cultural beauty and experience all the highlights this world-famous landmark has to offer.
Situated on the edge of Triglav National Park, the town of Bled has had the reputation of an extremely popular tourist destination for centuries. With the Julian Alps in the background and forested hills all around, the location is breathtakingly gorgeous. The cherry on top is of course the idyllic glacial lake with an island in the middle. On your trip to Lake Bled you will take a ride with the traditional gondola-like boat called pletna and visit the church on the island. There is a lot to learn about the immensely rich history and legends of this wonderful place. Overlooking the lake on an enormous cliff is another important example of Slovenian cultural heritage, the 1000-year-ago Bled Castle, the oldest castle in Slovenia. The castle’s terrace offers stunning views of Lake Bled and the picturesque countryside that surrounds it. Your visit to Bled has to also include the delicious local specialty “kremšnita”, the famous cream cake.
