Lined with amazing architecture and lively bars, cafes and restaurants, the banks of the Ljubljanica are the place to be. You can see Ljubljana from a different perspective by going on a tourist boat ride or paddle boarding or canoeing through the centre of town. A short stroll from the Old Town is the riverside public space called Špica. Located near Ljubljana’s botanical gardens, Špica is a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle where you can do as the locals do: relax, have a coffee, and look at the river. Mind you, the Ljubljanica has also become a popular site for archaeologists, as it offers a milliard of lost historic pieces from the Stone Age to the Renaissance.
