Traditional pletna boat
Designed according to the concept of the Venetian gondola, the pletna boat has been around for centuries. As part of her reforms, the Habsburg ruler, Maria Theresa, appointed certain boatmen the right to make a living rowing across the lake to compensate them for initially receiving poor batches of land. This right has been passed on through generations and the tradition lives on to this day. This 7-metre-long and 2-metre-wide wooden, flat-bottom boat will take you to Lake Bled’s island just like it would have done hundreds of years ago.
