Venice - the Floating City. The city of water, masks, bridges and canals. Birthplace of New World explorer Marco Polo, the great lover Casanova and the enchanting Baroque composer Vivaldi. Set on 118 islands to form a whole, this is but a small taste of the illustrious history of the Queen of the Adriatic.
Starting from Ljubljana, the perfect hub for exploration of central Europe, we will arrive in the ancient city at around noon - a time so beautiful it was even captured in a painting. From then, we will embark on a tour across the many narrow bridges and canals to the most famous Venetian attractions: we will explore the vast St. Mark’s Square and its magnificent Basilica, stop at the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs - the prison from which Casanova made his famous escape - and, of course, traverse The Grand Canal in a traditional Venetian gondola.
If in the end, the day seems too short, don’t worry - days in Venice always do. A city like her deserves more, but you can be sure she will give you as much in a day as you can take home - in experience, in souvenirs and certainly in memories.
