Choose your own priorities and decide what your trip to Lake Bled will be like. Walk the Vintgar Gorge trail* (3 km (1.8 mi) - 1.5 hrs) in the Triglav National Park and discover the power of water, which has carved this amazing ravine through layers of rock, and marvel at the green surroundings of this popular attraction just outside of Bled.
Enjoy the history and breathtaking views at Bled Castle, the oldest castle in Slovenia with a history of over 1000 years. Visit its interesting exhibitions and find local souvenirs in the castle’s shop. Here you can also taste the famous “Kremšnita” cream cake - trust us, you don’t want to miss it.
Embark on the traditional “pletna” boat and let the oarsmen do the work while you sit back and enjoy the remarkable scenery of the surrounding mountains and the tranquillity of the green waters. Walk around the small island or visit the scenic church, famous for its wishing bell.
You can also enjoy free time on your own in the bustling lakeside resort town and visit charming cafes, restaurants and shops. The main promenade, which starts in the town, continues all around the lake (6 km (3.8 mi) - 2 hrs), and is one of the most popular places for summertime swimming in Slovenia.
